Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can 15 oz tomato sauce
  • 1 can 14.5 oz diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 12 oz egg noodles or elbow macaroni
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned, about 6–7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  • Add onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
  • Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  • In a large bowl, combine cooked pasta, beef mixture, and sour cream. Mix well.
  • Spread half the pasta mixture into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with half the cheddar and mozzarella. Repeat layers with remaining pasta and cheese.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Garnish with parsley before serving.
