Ingredients

  • 12 ounces fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Rinse the cranberries thoroughly in cold water and remove any stems or damaged berries.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed cranberries, water, and sugar. Stir well.
  • Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  • Once the cranberries start to pop (about 5-10 minutes), reduce the heat to low.
  • Add the orange zest, cinnamon, and salt to the simmering cranberry mixture.
  • Simmer for an additional 10-15 minutes until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.
