Crafting Creamy and Flavorful Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients
  

  • 2 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: 1/4 cup cream cheese or sour cream

Method
 

  1. Prepare the potatoes by peeling and cutting them into chunks.
  2. Place the potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water.
  3. Bring the water to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until tender.
  4. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
  5. Add the butter, salt, and pepper to the potatoes.
  6. Begin mashing the potatoes using a potato masher or ricer.
  7. Gradually add the warmed milk and mix until creamy.
  8. Optional: Stir in cream cheese or sour cream for extra richness.
