Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried cherries
  • 1/2 cup bourbon
  • 1 1/2 cups vanilla wafer crumbs
  • 1 cup finely chopped nuts walnuts or pecans
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

Instructions

  • Soak the dried cherries in bourbon for 1-2 hours.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the vanilla wafer crumbs, chopped nuts, and cocoa powder.
  • Add the soaked cherries along with any remaining bourbon to the dry mixture.
  • Stir in the powdered sugar until well-combined.
  • Chill the mixture for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  • Shape the mixture into 1-inch balls and roll them in additional powdered sugar or cocoa powder.
  • Place the rolled balls on a baking sheet and chill for another hour to firm up.
