Method
- Soak the dried cherries in bourbon for 1-2 hours.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the vanilla wafer crumbs, chopped nuts, and cocoa powder.
- Add the soaked cherries along with any remaining bourbon to the dry mixture.
- Stir in the powdered sugar until well-combined.
- Chill the mixture for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
- Shape the mixture into 1-inch balls and roll them in additional powdered sugar or cocoa powder.
- Place the rolled balls on a baking sheet and chill for another hour to firm up.
