Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Line a cupcake tin with liners.
In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
In another bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Mix in the vanilla extract.
Alternate adding the dry ingredients and the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.
Fill the cupcake liners about ⅔ full with the batter.
Bake for 18–22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Let the cupcakes cool in the tin for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
Once completely cooled, frost with your favorite festive frosting and add sprinkles.
