Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon corn syrup

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x13-inch baking dish by lining it with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, and softened butter until crumbly.
  • Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form the crust.
  • Bake the crust for 20 minutes or until lightly golden.
  • While the crust is baking, mix together the eggs, maple syrup, chopped pecans, vanilla, sea salt, and corn syrup until well combined.
  • Pour the filling over the baked crust and spread it evenly.
  • Bake the bars for an additional 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set and slightly puffed.
  • Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool in the baking dish for about an hour before transferring to the refrigerator to chill.
  • After chilling, lift the bars out using the parchment paper and cut into squares or rectangles.
  • Sprinkle additional sea salt over the top before serving, if desired.
