Ingredients

  • 1 package phyllo dough 16 oz
  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 16 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts walnuts or pistachios
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Prepare an 8x8 inch baking dish by greasing it with butter.
  • Unroll the phyllo dough and cover it with a damp cloth to prevent it from drying out.
  • Layer 5 sheets of phyllo, brushing each layer with melted butter before adding the next one.
  • In a bowl, blend together the cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
  • Add Greek yogurt, eggs, vanilla, honey, cinnamon, and mix until combined.
  • Spread the cheesecake filling evenly over the layered phyllo.
  • Sprinkle chopped nuts over the cheesecake layer.
  • Layer another 5 sheets of phyllo on top of the filling, brushing with butter in between.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden and set.
  • Let it cool, then drizzle with additional honey before serving.
