Fresh and Flavorful Sushi Wonton Cones

Sushi Wonton Cones made approachable with clear cues, pantry staples, and flexible swaps.

Ingredients

  • 12 wonton wrappers
  • 2 cups sushi rice
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup avocado sliced
  • 1 cup cucumber julienned
  • 1 cup sushi-grade fish e.g., salmon, tuna, diced
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise preferably spicy or wasabi-infused
  • Soy sauce for serving

Instructions

  • Cook sushi rice according to package instructions.
  • Mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt in a small bowl.
  • Once rice is cooked, gently fold in the vinegar mixture.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and shape wonton wrappers into cones.
  • Bake the wonton cones for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Prepare the fillings by slicing the avocado and cucumber, and dicing the fish.
  • Mix mayonnaise with any desired spicy elements.
  • Fill the baked cones with rice, followed by layers of avocado, cucumber, and fish.
  • Drizzle with spicy mayonnaise and serve with soy sauce.
