Ingredients

  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

  • 8 slices of thick bread like brioche or challah

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine pumpkin puree, eggs, milk, vanilla, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  • Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and add a pat of butter.
  • Dip each slice of bread into the pumpkin mixture, letting it soak for a few seconds.
  • Place the soaked bread slices onto the hot skillet, cooking until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  • Add more butter as needed for subsequent batches, repeating the soaking and cooking process.
