Savory Turkey Meatballs for Any Occasion

Turkey Meatballs made approachable with clear cues, pantry staples, and flexible swaps.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • 1/4 cup milk

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, onion, garlic, egg, salt, black pepper, oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Add the milk to the mixture and gently combine until all ingredients are just incorporated. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the meatballs tough.
  4. Using your hands, form the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs, placing them on the prepared baking sheet as you go.
  5. Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  6. Remove the meatballs from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them with your favorite sauce, in a sub, or on their own.
