  • 2 cups fresh strawberries hulled and halved
  • 1 pre-made pie crust or homemade if preferred
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon butter melted (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Prepare the pie crust in a 9-inch pie pan, if not using a pre-made one.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the halved strawberries and granulated sugar, gently tossing to coat the berries.
  • Sprinkle the cornstarch and lemon juice over the strawberry mixture and combine well.
  • Pour the strawberry mixture into the prepared pie crust, spreading it evenly.
  • Brush the crust with melted butter, if using, to enhance flavor and color.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the filling is bubbling.
  • Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack.
  • Serve the pie at room temperature, optionally with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
