Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries hulled and halved
  • 1 pre-made pie crust or homemade if preferred
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon butter melted (optional)

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the pie crust in a 9-inch pie pan, if not using a pre-made one.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the halved strawberries and granulated sugar, gently tossing to coat the berries.
  4. Sprinkle the cornstarch and lemon juice over the strawberry mixture and combine well.
  5. Pour the strawberry mixture into the prepared pie crust, spreading it evenly.
  6. Brush the crust with melted butter, if using, to enhance flavor and color.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the filling is bubbling.
  8. Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack.
  9. Serve the pie at room temperature, optionally with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
